Mt. Scott Animal Clinic Doctors & Staff
Dr. Mariah Kimball
Medical Director
Dr. Kimball graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. She worked for 8 years in Orlando, FL – seeing dogs, cats, and many small pocket pets, birds and reptiles. Because Dr. Kimball missed basic things like: seasons, hiking and camping (or ANY outdoor activity that didn’t result in the potential for heat stroke or fire-ant bites) she moved herself, her husband and her 4 legged family to the Pacific Northwest. Since then, they have added two children to the mix, so they are always on their toes. Dr. Kimball’s areas of interest are Dentistry and soft tissue surgery, but has extensive knowledge in the areas of dermatology and allergies, as well as Internal medicine, and nutrition. Dr Kimball is a strong advocate for the Fear-free approach and culture that Mt Scott Animal Clinic has focused on. In her free time, Dr. Kimball also enjoys Kayaking, baking, throwing ceramics, silver clay jewelry making, antiquing, and exploring the Portland area with her family.
Dr. Chicory Eddy
Veterinarian
Dr. Alexandria Sandiford
Veterinarian
Dr. Sandiford grew up on a hobby farm with a menagerie of animals in Central Oregon. She completed her Bachelor of Science at Portland State University then went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2018 at Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her professional interests include cardiology, dentistry, and behavior- although she enjoys almost all aspects of the veterinary field. When not at work she can be found doing chores with her husband, chasing her toddler, or pestering her Clydesdale, ‘Kevin’. In addition to Kevin, she has 2 other horses, a goat, a Great Dane, 2 cats, and 1 very special duck who has her own personal guard goose.

Mariah
Shift Lead & Surgical Technician
Mariah joined the Mt. Scott Animal Clinic team in 2017, starting as a kennel attendant before pursuing her education to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. Now a CVT and Shift Lead, she plays a vital role in both patient care and clinic operations—especially in surgery, where she assists with everything from routine dental cleanings to complex procedures.
With a lifelong passion for animals and education, Mariah brings diverse experience to the clinic, having worked in sea turtle research, exotic animal rescue, and farm animal care. Her favorite part of the job is supporting patients through surgical recovery and seeing their health improve through skilled veterinary care.
Outside the clinic, Mariah is always learning something new. Her latest hobbies include blacksmithing, basket making, hand-spinning yarn, and spoon carving. She also has a soft spot for rescue animals—her beloved cat Zeppelin was a “foster fail” found on the side of Holgate and brought into the clinic.
Mariah is committed to compassionate, Fear Free care and continues to grow as a leader in veterinary medicine.
Marlee
Certified Veterinary Technician
Marlee is a seasoned Certified Veterinary Technician with over a decade of experience in veterinary specialty medicine, including Internal Medicine, Interventional Radiology, and Emergency & Critical Care. She earned her degree and veterinary technician license in Los Angeles and began her career in West LA, where she worked in fast-paced, high-level care environments.
Originally from Bradenton, Florida, Marlee’s journey into veterinary medicine was inspired by a personal loss. After the tragic passing of her beloved Chihuahua, ChaChi, she was moved by the compassion shown by an ER veterinary technician—and decided to pursue the field herself.
Before entering veterinary medicine, Marlee spent her early twenties as a sailing instructor and youth coach on the Manatee River. She also performed in several rock and roll and country noir bands, showcasing her creative spirit and love of community.
Now a proud resident of the Lents neighborhood, Marlee is excited to be working close to home and sharing her skills in general practice. She’s especially passionate about patient comfort, client communication, and, of course, tiny dogs.
Rin
Veterinary Assistant
Rin brings over 20 years of experience to Mt. Scott Animal Clinic, with a background in small animal general practice, emergency care, surgery, equine medicine, exotics, and laboratory work. Her clinical strengths include diagnostic sample collection, radiology, and surgical assistance.
Originally from the East Coast, Rin moved to Portland in 2021 after hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the outdoors through hiking, climbing, and kayaking. She shares her home with a senior tripod cat and a spirited young whippet.

Jamie Wright
Veterinary Support Team
Jamie has been a veterinary assistant since 2006 upon completing the vet assistant program through Apollo college. She is now pursuing her associate’s in veterinary technology to become a CVT. Since age walking Jamie has loved animals big and small. Birds have always been a part of her life, from keeping them as pets and being a nerdy bird watcher. Right now Kiwi the Quaker parrot owns her heart.
Em
Client Relations Lead
Em has worked with animals since they were 5 years of age, and since they’re now VERY old, that’s a pretty long time. In addition to their work in veterinary medicine, Em is a linguist, a Fear-Free certified dog trainer, and a trapeze artist. They are absolutely obsessed with their cat Wesley Thomas, who is perfect. They like macaroni and cheese, anime, and splashing around in mud puddles.
Angie
Client Support Specialist
Angie has always had a deep love for animals. Before joining the veterinary field, she earned her degree as a medical assistant and worked in human healthcare — but quickly discovered her passion was with pets, not people. Since then, she’s spent over 10 years in veterinary medicine, gaining experience in roles ranging from Veterinary Technician to Inventory Manager and now as a Client Support Specialist.
At home, Angie shares life with two beloved cats: Orange Juice (OJ), an anxious orange tabby with a feisty side, and Mr. Black, a confident black cat who keeps the neighborhood in check but adores human attention. When she’s not at the clinic, you can find her exploring the Pacific Northwest with her family, enjoying great food, reading a good book, or sneaking in a cozy nap.
